    awesome

I love it - was given it at work and was initially disappointed as it was replacing a surfacebook of similar specs, but I now prefer this: - having a sim card slot is awesome - 2k screen is more compatible with software I run - the 3K screen on the surfacebook is better spec'd but half my programs resulted in miniscule text (eg ArcGIS) which I couldnt fix - its lighter and more compact - usbc is good - having full size HDMI port built in is good - having the screen flip 180 degrees is better - the surfacebook removable screen feature I never really used, and ended up with conflicts with activating / deactivating the graphics card - I thought not having a dedicated graphics card would suck but its been fine for what I do including 3D analyses and visuals and running multiple screens (having said that, a dedicated graphics card would be good) - having a micro-sized sd card that sits flush is better that the protruding one on surfacebook Overall its the best lappie Ive owned. Only bad thing is that the bloatware when the PC was delivered was ridiculous - I had to spend a few hours uninstalling all sorts of HP rubbish and the lappie was much better for it when all that was gone. I removed one star because of that. Battery life is great in my experience. Things i hope for in the next release of this model are: - less bezel on the screen, for a larger screen at same size - dedicated graphics, or Kaby-G type thing

    Compromised Product

Hi guys, I was planning to upgrade my old laptop since last year and I was so fed up with my old one that I started to save up pretty decent money to get the the top class high performance laptop. So, the bottom line is I decided to to get this model HP EliteBook x360 1030 G2 (ENERGY STAR) [ 1UX17PA ] It took me more than 12 month to save up that money and not only this I searched tons of time over the HP.COM.AU and even had the chat with them millions of times to get to know about this and other models. Conclusion: This particular product lies in terms of Battery consumption trust me, It will only last for 5 hours with maximum brightness and I watched the movie many times with the Samsung stereo headphone and standard application at the back which always runs in every laptop. Secondly, this product is not very fast and efficient even I got it in July and I still barely use it because I use the Work Computer at work and most of time I do my other jobs over there so whenever I use this product it slows down even yesterday I was struggling to use the Google Chrome search engine and it was quite slow and stuck. I should have used it first after buying it so that I can return them back. Double think to pay AU$3,599 and also make sure you use the free return option if you are not happy. Hope HP get back to me to solve me performance and battery issue.

    Over promised/Under delivered

I was excited to upgrade to the x360 elitebook from a previous hp spectre G1 360. It has the ports and form factor to make it truly portable without adding too much necessity to carry extra cables. However, this has felt for the most part a down grade. Main issues: 1. poor battery ; even when every extra adapter and functionality are closed except basic wifi and word processing and e-mails, I am lucky to get 6 hours of battery with <30% brightness set. Further, I had the service tech review my laptop when he came to replace the finger print reader and apparently he could identify no fault. Meaning, you should expect the same poor performance if you buy. 2. Processing. Despite top line payment, not a significant improvement over the old laptop for intensive tasks. 3. Finger print reader: best left without. My original one stopped working within months. replacement one working properly means not working very well. compared to my 3 year old phone it's successful recognition rate is <10% of the time. 4. False warranty promises. Paid for the NBD on site coverage. My claim took 3 weeks for someone to actually do something about it and it was just a finger print reader, imagine if it was somethign more important to using the laptop?
