WOW, Love it :)
I wanted a touch screen laptop but didn't think I would want the keyboard attached all the time so I bought the HP Split x2 with 500GB in the keyboard, 13 inch screen.
OMG! the screen is lovely, the keyboard great to type on and the batteries last a full day (or at least they do for me).
I downloaded Google Chrome as this is my preferred browser and had some issues, crashing, tablet didn't seem to know what I wanted, nightmare so... I searched and downloaded a version for windows 8 touch screen, solved all issues :)
I love this hybrid. I'm looking forward to taking it to work rather than use the antiquated machines there.
My only criticism is it is a little on the heavy side but for the quality, two batteries, ease of use, two hard drives etc that is a small pay off as far as I'm concerned.
I can't recommend this machine enough, just make sure you get the correct version of anything you download, should be specifically for Windows 8
One very happy customer, thanks HP :)

Ideal combination for home and office
I must say a tablet is physcially handicapped when it requires you to view the screen at the same time keyboard editting (in my case, I am editing my work related viso diagrams and text at the same time using the hardware keyboard)
Overall I am very impressed with its performance. I would have easily given 5 stars if the 'split' allowed me to turn the screen other way around when presenting to audience in a small room without a projector.
Overall an excellent combination laptop and I whole heartedly recommend it for someone like me who is self employed, and needs the power and flexibility at the same time.

Bought from PC World and, although it invalidated the warranty, fitted a 960GB 7mm Crucial drive and replaced the mSata with a M5M 256GB mSata.
I also added 8GB with a DDR3L (Must be low voltage 1.35v) along with a nice 128GB SD card/64GB MicroSD card. Can you say storage?
Overall it's very fast and 100% stable. Why not 5 stars? The screen res is 1366x768 and this really could have done with, at least, a 1600x900 version.
P.s. If your fan makes a noise then RETURN for a replacement or refund. What's the point of writing a review that actually 'isn't a review?
